An Ely teen is jail on a $1,000,000 bail charged with attempted murder following a shoot out at a private party early Sunday morning.

Mario A. Gonzales age 19 of Ely is facing a possible life sentence following a shooting rampage at an Ely home that left three men wounded including Gonzales him self.

According to White Pine county Under sheriff Scott Henroid dispatch received a call at around 3 am Sunday morning reporting three people had been shot during a party at 1300 Lyons Avenue in Ely.

When officers arrived they located three individuals who had been shot. All three individuals were taken to E.R. By ambulance. Officers reported that during their investigation it is believed that a party was occurring at the residence. A male subject that was attending the party stated that a female also attending the party had made accusation towards another male attending the party about being inappropriately touched.

Gonzales was asked to leave the party by the other party goers. Gonzales left the party and returned with a handgun. Witnesses stated that Gonzales was beating on the door to gain access when one of the occupants opened the door. When the door opened Gonzales shot the individual who had opened the door. This individual was shot in the shoulder. Another occupant of the residence then attempted to remove the firearm from Gonzales. During this struggle for the gun this individual was shot in the leg. Gonzales was also shot twice during this struggle. He was shot once in the pelvic area and another in the arm. Gonzales was treated at the hospital and was released on Monday.

Gonzales was then arrested and was charged with Assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a building, and open and gross lewdness.

On May 29, 2011 at approximately 3:02 A.M. officers received a report of shots fired at a residence located at 1300 Lyons Ave in Ely.

Names of the victims are being withheld.
