A case of wife beating at the Peppermill Casino lead to the arrest of fugitive drug dealer on the lam from Texas.
According to West wendover Police Chief Burdel Welsh police officers were called by Peppermill security after they were called by the victim’s wife.
Edwin Daniels of Laporte Texas was taken into custody for felony domestic battery (with substantial bodily harm).
“He was already in handcuffs when our officers arrived.” Welsh said. “The woman appeared badly beaten around the face with blood coming from her ears. She told police she fell.
While he was being arrested he told us that he was facing a 25 years to life sentence in the state of Texas on drug charges.
His wife had flown in from Texas and he having fled to Washington had driven to Wendover to pick her up.
Bail for the domestic battery charge was set at $15,000. In addition he was arrested on two fugitive charges with a total of $150,000 bail.
