Elizabeth Ellen Cahoon is in the Elko County Jail charged with one count of attempted murder of her husband Eric, reported the Elko County Sheriff’s Department Thursday.

According to police reports the Sheriff’s dispatch received call from a frantic Eric Cahoon reporting he had been stabbed by his wife at about 1:00pm, Thursday.

The Elko County Sheriff’s’ Office responded to 386 Berry Creek Court.

Prior to arriving at the Berry Creek Court address, deputies were notified through Central Dispatch that the victim had been able to make a 9-1-1 call to dispatch and inform them that he had been stabbed by his wife.

The 56 year old victim was located outside his residence with a substantial wound to his back. Eric was conscious, breathing and was transported to NNRH.

The suspect, 53 year old Elizabeth Ellen Cahoon, was immediately located and placed under arrest and charged with attempted homicide.

According to witnesses, Mr. Cahoon was in the garage portion of the property when he was assaulted.

This incident is currently under investigation.
