A call about an ‘unwanted’ person turned into a big drug bust at the Montego Bay Casino Monday night.
According to WWPD reports officers were called to remove an Osvaldo Sanchez from the Montego Bay Casino. Sanchez had been previously 86’d from the casino. Casino staff had indicated that they would be pressing criminal trespass charges against Sanchez.
When the officers arrived they did not however find Sanchez at the hotel room casino security directed them to. Instead cops found Donald Sorenson, Brittany Walles and Melissa Broadhead. The three told police that Sanchez had long since left.
During interviews several items constituting drug paraphernalia were visible within the room to the police. All three were taken into custody while being investigated for the unlawful possession of the drug paraphernalia.
During a search incident to arrest Sorenson was found to be in possession of a controlled substance suspected to be methamphetamines. Walles was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be heroin. Broadhead was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be marijuana.
“It was a bit unusual to find a different drug on each of the three suspects,” said WWPD Lt. Donald Lininger.
All three were charged on several counts of drug possession and transported to the Elko county jail while a search warrant was sought for the hotel room. This incident remains under investigation and further charges may be sought through the district attorney on these individuals, as well as other persons involved.
