Israel Cornejo of Wendover was charged with several misdemeanors stemming from this Saturday rollover.
In the early morning hours of March 28, WWPD officers responded to a report of a vehicle accident in the 600 block of Florence way. Upon arrival officers observed a 2012 Chevy Camaro on the north side of the roadway. Through evidence observed in the area 
officers were able to determine that the vehicle was traveling west bound on Florence way. As the vehicle approached the intersection of Camper drive the vehicle traveled off the roadway onto the north shoulder. The driver corrected by turning back onto the roadway and began a broadside skid. The vehicle then left the north side of the roadway again striking two trees then coming to rest on its top.
Cornejo fled the scene prior to police arrival. An identification of the driver was obtained through a witness who reported the accident to police. Cornejo was later located for an interview the following evening. No serious injuries were reported. Charges are being sought on t Cornejo which includes failure to report an accident, reckless driving and failure to maintain travel lanes.
