Hollywood came to Wendover Wednesday and brought with it a traffic jam as film crews shot scenes for the Independence Day 2.
Wendover was one of the locations for the first Independence Day in 1996 and will reprise its role this time around. Wednesday crews worked their magic on the Desert Discount Liquor Store, transforming it into the Last Chance Liquor & Lotto.
The sequel will take place 20 years after the first alien invasion was thwarted by a computer virus and some daring do.
With the exception of Will Smith most of the original films cast is making a return for the sequel including Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox and Judd Hirsch.
Jessie Usher and Liam Hemsworth are joining the cast as fresh faces.
The Independence Day sequel is going to go by the name of ID Forever, and will feature a new wave of aliens wh arrives in response to a distress signal sent up by the first” of extraterrestrial visitors.“Independence Day 2” strikes theaters on June 24, 2016.
